DC Bound

Posted on Thursday, February 23rd

Greetings:

Wanted to give you an update on the staged readings set for Washington, DC next week. I observed the auditions, director Melisa Robinson has put together a strong cast, and I’m eager to see their work.

There has also been a new development in the outreach goal of our campaign. The second reading will be staged at AARP’s production studio. Part of our post production is to cut a trailer to market to artistic directors for a fully staged production.

And the full video production or selected scenes of “Inside Job” could be used as a centerpiece to attract people to community meetings. The play would become a platform for guided discussions and question and answer sessions, spawning new ideas and fresh perspectives about the heroin crisis.

I was recently contacted by an artistic director who wants to use “Inside Job” as part of a weekend of community meetings to address the heroin crisis. As she began putting the program together she wondered if there were any plays on the subject. Her research led to our FB page. Sometimes the magic works.

Finally, for our Washington friends there are still seats available for both readings:

Here are the locations and times for the Inside Job staged reading:

Monday February 27th at Spooky Action Theater, 1810 16th St NW. When you arrive you’ll see two large flags with the name of the theatre and signs directing you where to go. Doors open at 7:00 pm with the readings to begin at 7:15.

Tuesday February 28th at the AARP production studio, use the 601 E Street NW entrance and go to security. Folks attending the Tuesday reading, please send me your name to make it easier to clear security. You will have an escort to the Studio; please bring a photo ID.Doors open at 6:30 reading begins at 7:30.
